Operation Star

Hi.

Operation Star is an opportunity for local residents to meet up with and have an informal chat with NYP Police Volunteers who are part of the Neighbourhood team in a relaxed setting.

Many people particularly in local villages have no contact with the local Police Teams unless there is an incident of some type, but neighbourhood policing is for the most part about Community Engagement.

One of the ways we can deal with this is to attend local village events such as coffee mornings, local drop in events etc.

It enables us to sit down with a cuppa and chat to local residents, providing information on such topics as Crime Prevention, Fraud, Community Messaging and much more.

It is also an opportunity for those enjoying the get together to let us know of issues which they feel to be of Police interest.

Unfortunately we do not always have details of when and where such events are planned, nor who to contact to gain permission to attend.

The local PSCO, s are aware of these events in towns such as Thirsk/Northallerton, but will not necessary know about the more outlying ones.

If you know of such gatherings planned during the upcoming months and you think our attending could be beneficial and welcome please let us know.
